Évaluation économique des services écosystémiques des terres protégées par Corridor Appalachien

Surrogate safety analysis is a growing field of road safety where the diagnosis is based on direct observations of traffic and events with some relationship to accidents, in particular traffic conflicts or near misses. Such proactive
methods have several advantages, such as shorter observations periods, lower costs and better insights into accident processes. Yet, their widespread use depends on their ability to measure safety as well or better then accident-based methods. In particular, evaluating the safety of events requires evaluating what would have happened if road users on a collision course did not react using motion prediction methods. This project aims to
address both issues, motion prediction methods and the validation of surrogate measures of safety, and to incorporate the best methods in the industry partner’s software and services.
