External Risk Analysis of International Investment Projects

Investors from different countries (or regions) face often different risks in a given host country. This dissertation proposes a new theoretical framework of Country Risk (CR) assessment in the perspective of China and a new model providing better performance of CR rating and CR forecasting for international investment projects from China to the countries involved in The B&R Initiative. Also the research result can be applied in any other countries by replacing the data of other countries. For example, Canada invests some projects in Africa or Asia.
Using qualitative and quantitative analysis methodology, this dissertation reviews project external risk management at the national level; analysis methodologies done by CR rating agencies, institute, and CR serves providers, proposes a new CR assessment framework and a new HNN model in a Chinese perspective to fill the gap between the existing techniques in project risk management and the requirements of Chinese investors and decision-makers.
