Feasibility study of additively manufactured composite structures for deployable optics
Wyvern Inc., an Edmonton-based satellite imagery company, is partnering with Dr. Joanna Wong’s lab at the University of Calgary to develop lightweight, durable satellite components using advanced composite materials and additive manufacturing. Prototypes will be tested to ensure they withstand the harsh conditions of space, strengthening Canada’s space supply chain and advancing national priorities in defense, environmental monitoring, and sustainable space technology.
