Fredericton Botanic Garden Association

The Fredericton Botanic Garden is a community-driven organization focused on botanical conservation, environmental education, and public engagement through guided tours, workshops, and special events. While the Garden provides opportunities for visitors to explore native and non-native plant species and sustainable gardening practices, it faces the challenge of enhancing visitor engagement and increasing membership. To address this, the intern will design a structured, repeatable series of immersive “day experiences” that go beyond standard tours by combining themed mini-tours, interactive workshops, and nutrition breaks. These events will cater to a diverse audience, fostering deeper connections with nature while encouraging long-term involvement with the Garden. By developing a catalog of six event formats, securing materials and instructors, promoting the events, and conducting trial runs, this project will provide a sustainable framework for future programming. Additionally, a final report summarizing best practices and participant feedback will guide future iterations, supporting the Garden’s goal of increasing engagement and membership. Success will be measured through the number of events designed and delivered, promotional materials created, participant interest, and new memberships generated. This project requires expertise in event planning, community engagement, marketing, and environmental education to create engaging experiences that align with the Garden’s mission while ensuring long-term sustainability.
