Further testing the potential of Timegated Raman for Online Mineralogy

The project aims to investigate the potential of a novel approach called Timegated Raman, capable of identifying minerals contained within rocks. Specifically, the project involves measuring known samples in a laboratory setting using a Timegated Raman unit, to assess to what extend the method can be used to quantify theminerals present in mineral powders, and whether this can also be done when the minerals are in slurry form i.e. mixed with water. This would allow online measurements in an industrial setting, potentially providing important information in a timely and simple fashion and allowing for process optimization. In turn, this research could help mineral processing plants notice changes in the ore contents sooner and make the necessary adjustments to offset the disturbances, reducing process upsets and costs.
