Governance practices in Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM)

This study aims to identify the key challenges faced by artisanal and small-scale miners globally, as well as to provide cases of leading practices taken by governments, international organizations, large-scale mining companies and ASM groups to strengthen the governance capacity within the ASM sector. This study is qualitative in nature and will be conducted primarily through literature review and secondary data analysis from reliable sources. The outcomes of this project will benefit the partner’s business activities in Canada and enhance knowledge regarding ASM governance, contributing to strengthen the company’s engagement strategy worldwide.
