Holistic view of electric energy systems, including Social, Technical, Environment, Economics, and Policy considerations

This project focuses on creating interdisciplinary educational program within the energy field. The goal is to address the challenge of engineers struggling to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds – both within and outside of engineering.
By integrating energy principles with business, political, and environmental considerations, this project aims to equip future engineers with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the energy sector. This directly contributes to society’s fight against climate change and sustainable development, aligning with the university’s strategic vision of fostering collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches in education.

The expected outcome of the research is the creation of educational materials that provides holistic view of electric energy systems, including Social, Technical, Environment, Economics, and Policy considerations and can be integrated into interdisciplinary energy couse at Waterloo University.
