Housing Affordability Financing Study

The Housing Affordability Financing Study will review what is working in financing affordable housing within Canada amongst credit unions and other financial service providers for the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA). A scan of websites and interviews with key informants within the Credit Union system will identify financial projects that are helping to make owning or renting a home more affordable for Canadians. Findings will be summarized in a report, which CCUA will use to encourage Canadian credit unions to adopt innovative practices in making housing more affordable. Three teaching cases will also be created to allow students and practitioners to learn how these innovative projects came to be implemented.
