The notion of ‘self-regulation’ in the development of children and young people and the health of adults has taken on considerable importance, especially in education, as the science investigating this feature has made significant advances over the last decade. One nationwide initiative, the Canadian Self-Regulation Initiative (CSRI), has been working since 2012 to support educators’ understanding about self-regulation and their ability to integrate these ideas into their practice. This research project will look more closely at the CSRI, to see how it has unfolded and to examine how participating teachers’ understanding about self-regulation is developing. As a result of this project, the corporate partner organization, Pearson Canada, will be in a better position to develop products and services in the area of self-regulation that are useful and relevant to teachers
