IMMERSe

The proposed project will transform a trading card game into a locative mobile gaming platform with the goal of creating an interactive narrative experience. The game itself will be creating an on-going history of gameplay and publishing it on the Internet. In essence, players of the game are dynamically being written into the mythology of the game thus affecting the narrative of the game while playing. The project will produce an interactive storyline where users create a “grimoire” with a full history of the characters within the game world. The research will focus on how users interact with the game mechanics and on the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning mechanisms. The partner organization will benefit from the project via the interns’ experience with Natural Language Processing and Narratology. The application of this type of research is directly attached to the creation of a generative story-telling machine
