Improving Multiplayer Capacity For VR And Games Projects

Spandrel Interactive is a VR and game development studio that specializes in development of gamified learning experiences and video games. Our main activities include VR product/training development, web development, testing and game/UX design. We have seen disproportionately low sales performance from building award-winning single player games. We consistently see multiplayer outperforming single player in the market, but we lack the appropriate tech stack, engine or expertise in multiplayer to take advantage of this trend.

Our studio will transition towards developing multiplayer games with the goal of leveraging increased discoverability, retention, monetization and scalability that multiplayer platforms are able to offer. The proposed BSI project will focus on mitigating the gaps that we are facing to facilitate this transition and align our production capabilities with market demands effectively.

The innovation challenge we need to address is the development of efficient and scalable solutions for matchmaking, network optimization and player engagement. This project aims to help Spandrel Interactive overcome these challenges by bringing in fresh perspectives through which we can explore new approaches and technologies that go being our day-to-day operations. To successfully address these challenges, our expertise in game development, software engineering and game design will steer the research in online platform capabilities towards a stable solution.
