Incorporating the behavior of caregivers using discrete choice models for assigning visits and/or work schedules to caregivers in home healthcare services planning

The partner organization, AlayaCare being a provider of cloud-based home healthcare software services, will allow us to have access to real-world data as well as field realities for home health care services planning. The responses from the patients as well as the caregivers used to build the behavioral models (discrete choice models) will be obtained from the partner organization. The intern (postdoctoral fellow) of this project will work closely with the partner organization to acquire these data. Our obtained results from the solution methods will also be validated by the partner organization with real-world data. The project explores how caregivers react to real-world uncertainties and how this affects the scheduling of caregivers. The intern will build the optimization models, implement the solution methods, and do other project-related activities.
