Investigation of Product Induction Systems used in the Pneumatic Conveyance of Agricultural Materials

Farmers in Western Canada are demanding larger, higher capacity seeding equipment due to lack of available labor, economies of scale, and a limited seeding window. Typical air seeder systems are limited by the power available from current tractors. Therefore in order to increase the capacities of future units, a reduction in the power required will be needed. CNH will benefit from the thorough testing of typical product induction systems, development of a CFD model, and utilization of a small scale test bench. Adding to the company’s product induction knowledge base will aid in reducing the turnaround time on any new developments.
