L2M-Feasibility Assessment and Commercialization Strategy for a Mobile Hydrogen Production Unit Powered by Renewable Energy

This project explores how to make clean hydrogen production more accessible and affordable by designing a Mobile Hydrogen Production Unit (MHPU) that runs on renewable energy such as solar or wind. The unit will be small, portable, and capable of generating hydrogen on-site for use in remote, off-grid, or temporary locations that currently depend on diesel fuel. Over four months, the project will assess the technical design, market needs, and commercial opportunities for deploying such systems in Canada and beyond. The expected benefit is to create a clear roadmap for developing a practical, scalable hydrogen solution that supports Canada’s clean energy transition. The project will help identify the most promising use cases, potential partners, and commercialization strategies, contributing to lower emissions, energy resilience, and new opportunities for sustainable industry growth.
