McGuire Aero Propulsion Solutions (MAPS) is developing a transformative net-zero power generation technology: the micro-power-plant (MPP). The MPP addresses the global need for net-zero, distributed and dispatchable power generation. We are initially targeting industrial and commercial customers using 0.5 to 5 MW through a power-as-a-service offering.
The project team will apply their education while developing critical skills and gaining experience designing components for an advanced gas turbine microgenerator. In addition to the design activities, they will support analytical, manufacturing, and test activities. The activities will include developing the design process and toolchain necessary to fully leverage advanced manufacturing through the additive process and Industry 4.0 capabilities. The deliverables from this project will unlock new capabilities for mechanical engineering design.
