MMIW Community Safe Ride Application

?The intent of this project is to build an app that will allow passengers to request rides, and drivers to give rides.? Safety measures for women-identifying people will be embedded to ensure both riders and drivers know who is in the vehicle.? Emergency features such as direct contact to 24/7 dispatch and geolocation that can be controlled by the driver (in case it is safer to disable), will also be considered.? Payment will need to be managed via the app. (Where in the past drivers were unable to manage payment).? A ‘Pay It Forward” feature will ensure that rides can be provided to anyone regardless of ability to pay, as well as fund trips to see family and enjoy nature.??Adaptations will be built in for those riders without phone numbers or non-cash payment options.

?The app will collect data via a short survey with specially designed metrics to measure the improvement in women’s safety.? When rides are requested, specific information will be gathered in a confidential manner.
