Organizational Evaluation of ArtsJunktion: Impact on Community Well-being and Community Environmental Sustainability

Arts, environment, and community are the three core values of my partner organization Artsjunktion. Using reusable and recyclable materials which are mostly donated by community members, it provides a safe community to local artists and local people. It distributes the art materials to other community organizations. Its depot is one of the important recycling cite in Winnipeg and receives recyclable materials every day. However, it has not conducted a significant research or evaluation of its effectiveness and impact on both communities and environment. In order to improve its effort, a critical assessment of organization must be done. In this role, I have two objectives in evaluation of ArtJunktion. The first objective is to reveal the existing weaknesses and strengths of ArtJunktion as a community organization. More specifically, I will research the effectiveness of organizational networks. That includes assessment existing connection and information exchange tools with other environmental organizations, NGOs, schools, and the administration in Winnipeg. Leading people is also responsibility of the organization, so I will conduct survey and interview (either inperson or online) to evaluate how much its clients understand the work of ArtsJunktion and Winnipeg Manitoba regarding environmental sustainability.
