This project focuses on improving the design of post-surgical bras for people recovering from breast cancer surgery. In an earlier phase of the research, patients shared their experiences wearing a specially designed surgical bra after surgery. Their feedback highlighted issues with comfort, fit, gaps and how the bra made them feel during recovery. Phase Two builds on that feedback to improve the bra’s design so it better supports patients both physically and emotionally. The research intern will help develop and test new versions of the bra using real patient input gathered from interviews. The goal is to create a design that is more comfortable, easier to wear, and better suited to the specific needs of people healing from surgery. This project will benefit the partner organization by contributing to the development of a more patient-friendly, evidence-based recovery garment that focuses on patients’ needs and wants.
