Pacific Canada Heritage Centre and Museum of Migration (PCHC-MoM) is determined to end the stigma around cultural-specific foods. To do this, PCHC-MoM engages in storytelling projects that match volunteers to storytellers and has volunteers create videos on their food establishments. These videos discuss the history of the foods, its importance to the community, and the migration of it to British Columbia. By distributing these videos to the wider public, it helps Canadians make sense of why some foods are stigmatized and helps to break barriers in order to end the stigma on foreign looking and oddly smelling foods.
