Public Safety Analytics: The Saskatchewan Data Fusion Project

We will invent new ways of displaying and analyzing data collected by the Government of Saskatchewan. The Ministry of Justice wants to find cheaper ways of helping people make good choices. We will look in the data for connections among the things that people do and have done to them before they get in trouble. We will devise new types of computer software to automatically search for these connections. The connections will be considered by the Ministry employees. After consideration, they may suggest other connections that we should search for. Or else they may figure out how to make use of the connections to reach the people at risk with immediate help so that they
aren’t so likely to make bad choices. Most of our effort will be spent creating new ways of combining previously separate government data and then searching it quickly for new types of connections.
