Quantitative Evaluation of AR-Guided 3D Ultrasound Reconstruction: Accuracy, Robustness, and Feasibility Study

This project evaluates how augmented reality (AR) guidance can enhance the accuracy and usability of 3D ultrasound reconstruction. By leveraging AR interfaces and camera-tracking technology, the study will compare AR-assisted ultrasound reconstructions with traditional methods, focusing on metrics such as spatial alignment, volume accuracy, and signal quality. Experiments will use controlled setups, including phantoms and simulated scanning scenarios, to assess performance under varying conditions.
This project delivers a rigorous assessment of AR’s effectiveness in improving ultrasound imaging workflows. It will contribute to the development of low-cost, automated ultrasound systems and advance research in human-computer interaction for medical imaging. The outcomes will support efforts to make diagnostic imaging technology more reliable and accessible.
