Re-Designing Advisory Committees of Council

1000s of Ontarians engage with their local government every year through Advisory Committees of Council (ACOCs). The committees address a wide range of topics, including accessibility, transit, heritage, and the arts. Residents often serve on these committees for a more than a year. The goal of this research is to develop a framework to support the City of Guelph increase the effectiveness of its ACOCs. The research will also be useful for other municipalities in Ontario. The research will involve City staff, Members of Council, ACOC committee members and other residents in Guelph.
