Research on Layman Education Thoughts of Master Taixu

This project will conduct a systematic study on Master Taixu’s thoughts on layman education. Master Taixu was a pioneer in the reform of modern Buddhism and had a profound impact on the development of modern Buddhism. As the vast majority of Buddhist belief groups, lay Buddhists are the main participants in family and social activities, and they are the practical carriers for the development of Humanistic Buddhism.This project will comprehensively sort out Master Taixu’s views on the relationship between monks and laymen, clarify Master Taixu’s views on the order and content of layman’s practice, and propose enlightenment and reflection on modern layman education and the development of Humanistic Buddhism.
