Research on the post-polymerization functionalization of polymers using activated esters

In this project, our focus is on advancing and understanding the functionalization of polymers through the post-polymerization process that equips them with activated functional groups. We aim to fine-tune the properties of dynamic, stimuli-responsive polymers without compromising their initial structures. Rheological studies of polymer structure allows us to use DLP technology to prepare architectures and thus incorporate additive manufacturing techniques to polymer chemistry in order to create a wider array of 3D-printed materials that have tailored responses to stimuli and customizable function groups.
