Software development, integration, and testing of a 5G-based healthcare solution

The current healthcare system is struggling with maintaining quality and managing costs. With more older people and more cases of chronic illnesses, these problems are likely to get worse. By using the fast 5G network set up by Rogers at the University of Waterloo, along with medical monitoring devices from Mespere LifeSciences and the Tang Lab, this research project plans to develop an integrated solution that allows for video, audio, and health data transmission over a 5G network, connecting patient, doctor, and test devices. An intern will create a cloud-based web application, conduct integration and testing of this next-generation end-to-end digital healthcare solution. The partner companies, Mespere and Rogers, will provide support to the technical development activities and explore opportunities in the healthcare sector.
