Connected Canadians is a non-profit organization that provides older adults with free technology support and training. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for our services significantly, as our ways of connecting, interacting, and living have shifted online. Connected Canadians has been growing its mentor team significantly to help meet the rising needs of its clients. The proposed strategic communications project is meant to help Connected Canadians tell the story of those impacted by our programming, including our senior clients, our new immigrant mentors, and our Indigenous mentors.
At present, a tremendous amount of time is spent on our social media as well as our case studies, and other communications. The individual in this role would examine our existing processes, use them to create new artifacts, and help us to create a more efficient process of telling our stories. This would include the creation of templates with suggestions and guidelines to help less experienced team members create high-quality artifacts in future, and documenting best practices for communications within our organization.
