The Gender Harmony Project

The Towards Gender Harmony project is a global project examining prescriptive and descriptive gender traits and attitudes towards issues such as equality, zero-sum beliefs, and precarious manhood beliefs. The project has produced several high-impact papers (e.g., Bosson et al., 2021; Kosakowska-Berezecka, 2020, 2023) and is forming the basis for current understanding of psychological processes influencing gender equality.

As members of the Towards Gender Harmony project team, Assoc. Prof Paul B. Hutchings and Dr Katie E. Sullivan have extended their work about gender equality research in a Welsh context (see Hutchings & Sullivan, 2023) and a new research project will be designed and carried out in Wales during 2024. This provides the opportunity for students from the MITACS scheme to join our laboratory at UWTSD to work on the project during 2024.
