The Influence of transport-related information on climate-friendly residential location choice

Climate change is a critical problem for society that is linked to all parts of our lives, and transport is one of the biggest sources. One major influence on transport emissions is where people live, as it affects vehicle ownership and distances driven. This project will examine how people consider transport when deciding where to live and whether providing estimates on transport emissions might be something people would want to know and how it might influence their choices. The project will examine whether different information is more useful in influencing more climate-friendly choices on where to live. The project partners, Futur Simple, will be able to use this information to help communicate with the public so that they move towards our climate emissions reduction target.
