The network of public spaces in Trung Hoa Nhan Chinh new urban development, Hanoi, analysis and intervention” research project aims to study one of the first new urban developments in Hanoi in terms of public recreational spaces. This project will identify the various types of public spaces that took form during the development of the area and ways in which they are appropriated by users. A map and photographic report will visually show the density and the typology of public spaces that exist in the area; an observation audit and a number of in-depth interviews will help understand the characteristics, usage and ownership of some significant public spaces. Understanding the network and characteristics of public spaces in THNC will support the formulation of a physical intervention
