The West Central Women’s Resource Centre: Chalmers Project aims to provide numerous services to the community from housing; to improving access to jobs; to supporting families living with violence and addiction; to improving access to mental health and wellness; to raising awareness in understanding the Indigenous ways of knowing; to equal access to buildings and play spaces; to providing access to nutritious food. The Chalmers Project is an excellent organization that provide services and workshops that helps a set of diverse community members and strengthens communities.
I intend to facilitate the sharing of heritage and cultural experiences, through food, traditions, stories, and music. By facilitating several workshops, presentations and small gatherings, all recorded or live-streamed for everyone to share, watch and learn from. It is important to note that the organization hopes to provide both in person gatherings and recorded or live-streamed sessions in order to ensure that the services are offered to all specifically during this time of pandemic.
