Vancouver, BC — Today, Mitacs and the Korea Planning & Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) signed a two-year agreement to strengthen long-term collaborations in industrial research and innovation. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Stephen Lucas, CEO, Mitacs, and Dr. Yoonjong Chun, Chairman and President, KEIT, at a formal ceremony in Vancouver.
This partnership will leverage Mitacs’s extensive research network across Canada and KEIT’s leadership in advancing Korea’s industrial technology. Together, they will support joint research and development projects, coordinate calls for proposals, and exchange knowledge to address shared priorities in science and technology.
The focus of this collaboration is on developing talent and enhancing both countries’ leadership in strategic sectors such as biotechnology, new materials, energy and clean technologies, digital innovation, AI, quantum, and advanced manufacturing. Through joint calls and exposure to advanced technologies, researchers will benefit from enriched learning and career development experiences.
