Advanced Manufacturing for SMR Supply Chain Development in Saskatchewan

March Consulting is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company, primarily serving the mining, agricultural, manufacturing, building projects and clean energy sectors. March has partnered with SIMSA (the Saskatchewan Industrial Mining and Suppliers Association) on a series of projects related to preparing the Saskatchewan supply chain to participate in the small modular reactor industry. The scope of interest for this project is how advanced manufacturing can be leveraged for SMR manufacturing. This project will help SIMSA’s membership understand what opportunities exist in this space and how they can get involved. SIMSA, supported by March has applied for funding for this project and another broader project which would explore supply chain opportunities for small modular reactor and SMR fuel from a wider perspective. Academic participation in the project is sought to provide insights to the project scope, but also as an opportunity for academia to engage with industry to better understand industry’s needs for skill sets and how to shape future educational programming to address these needs.
