Applying a community-based mental health lens to Canadians access to mental healthcare in the context of COVID19

The pandemic has had a devastating impact on mental health, substance use and homelessness in Canada. The pandemic has also made visible the current patchwork system of care provided in the private, public. It is expected that the medium-long term mental health and substance use impacts of the pandemic will be significant at both the level of individual and the system. This project will assess the state of Canadians mental health, access to mental health supports, the delivery of care in community settings, the mental health workforce, workplace mental health, and the social determinants of mental health, with the goal of identifying opportunities for mental health systems change.
