The BSI will be placed at Brass Dome Ventures, an Edmonton-based management consulting firm. The BSI will be placed on a consulting project with the University of Alberta’s Research and Innovation portfolio, specifically within the newly formed Technology Transfer Services Unit (“TTS”). Brass Dome Ventures has been engaged by the University of Alberta to enhance technology transfer and deliver a new commercialization program at the University of Alberta. The BSI position will be responsible for assisting in the management of files associated with technology licensing, technology transfer, and commercialization activities. The BSI position will focus on marketing the University’s technological innovations to various audiences. The project will help create better opportunities for the University of Alberta’s research, innovation, and technology to reach the broader Canadian public, thereby providing numerous social and economic benefits. While the BSI will be working across a wide range of sectors, the University’s key research strengths include agriculture, artificial intelligence, energy, environment & climate change, health, nanotechnology, science & technology, smart transportation, building, & devices, and society & culture.
