Business Analysis for Advocacy-focused, AI-Enabled, Stakeholder Relationship Management System

Legislation is a messy process, with important information generally not available to all stakeholders, a number of critical influencers and processes that are manual, and indeed “heroic” efforts required to get anything significant done. Gnowit (the partner organization) makes this much easier by tracking millions of sources of policy, legislative, regulatory and media information and automatically generating briefing for regulatory analysis and public affairs experts. However, monitoring is only one part of the process, and the partner organization would like to bring a higher level of automation to the process via the provision of central systems of records and standardized workflows. The goal of this project is to essentially design, prototype and test an advocacy focused stakeholder relationship management system, and the Interns will be tasked to carry out business analyst requirement gathering, working with real-life clients to determine key information artefacts that are critical to lobbying success, and then propose how automation and artificial intelligence can be used to support these efforts. These information artefacts can include entities such as Government/academic/trade/non-profit/media organizations, key representatives of these organization, legislation, compliance requirements, policy changes, stakeholder positions, and lobbying activities. The Intern will work with the partner organization’s team to propose automation that can capture, store and report on this information (via media monitoring, Government policy monitoring, legislative + regulation monitoring, email client integration, etc) to bring the same efficiency to GR and advocacy focused firms, that Customer relationship management (CRM) platforms have brought to sales and business development focused organizations. The Intern will need to be an expert in both business analytics as well having a deep understanding of the software engineering process to be able to carry out the required customer interviews, customer validation, requirements documentation work as well as developing an early prototype.
