Essential performance verification and validation for a middle ear optical coherence tomography imaging system

Audioptics Medical is a startup company dedicated to advancing diagnostics for diseases of the ear. Our optical imaging technology allows doctors to see through the intact eardrum into the middle ear and to use sound to stimulate middle ear structures and observe how they vibrate. This information can help to determine the cause of conductive hearing loss, decide on and plan for ear surgery and avoid imaging technologies that expose patients to radiation such as CT imaging. In this Mitacs project the intern will be responsible for planning and executing tests on our new prototype ear imaging system that will assess its performance and evaluate its ability to obtain reliable measurements of middle ear status.
