The Legal Innovation Zone Feasibility Study project brings together the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and Donna Purcell QC Law to consider the feasibility of a collaborative centre or “zone” that might support cross-disciplinary innovation in the legal system. Such a zone would aim to increase access to justice in a digital age, with special attention to the problems and opportunities that fall between the mandates of existing institutions (including but not limited to pro bono service delivery). With support from Hero Laird and the engagement of the Digital Law & Innovation Society, this project will bring together stakeholders to consider those problems and opportunities and how an innovation zone might support groups to collaboratively address them.
