Measuring outcomes that matter to children, youth and their families in mental health services

The global pandemic has made it clear that there is an urgent need for high-quality mental health services for children and youth. Right now, quality is measured in terms of the number of visits to clinics, emergency departments, hospitalizations, and the costs associated with those services. The voices of children, youth, and their families are largely absent from evaluations of mental health services. This project will engage youth and their caregivers to select a set of patient-reported outcome measures that will be used to evaluate the quality of youth mental health services in Alberta.
