Optimization algorithms for improved transloading cargo operations in container terminals

This research project aims to make the process of moving cargo from trains to shipping containers more efficient. We’re going to create smart plans and ways to organize this process better, making sure the cargo is packed into containers in the best way possible. By doing this, we aim to reduce the time it takes to consolidate different types of cargo, minimize how much cargo is moved around, and make sure the containers are loaded in a way that’s most effective. This will be done in partnership with Ray-Mont Logistics, a company that deals with products like agricultural goods and chemicals, aiming to help them in their supply chain.
