The research problem is to model the deterioration of conductors and to predict their service life as a function of exposure to humidity, chlorides and SO2. The model will be validated by analyzing 300 sites with data on the residual thickness of zinc. A feature-dependent Markov model will be fitted to estimate the residual life of conductors.
