Profiling vendors and products using temporal machine learning

Atlantic Lottery Corporation is owned by four Atlantic provinces. The profits generated by the corporation go back to the provincial general funds for the betterment of the community. A primary goal of the project is to improve the profits of the corporation through suggesting more efficient logistical planning. The corporation’s data mining and knowledge discovery needs are different from traditional retail or even wholesale businesses. This project will extend existing data mining techniques to provide knowledge discovery tools for the company for the optimization of their business processes. The goals of the project include: 1) reducing the cost of shipping and handling by optimizing the number and types of lottery tickets sent to vendors; 2) ensuring that each vendor has an appropriate selection of tickets to serve their clientele; 3) assisting vendors in providing a high level of service to end-customers.
