Protein-based nanoparticles with novel azole derivatives as antifungals

Increasingly, fungi are becoming resistant to the drugs, antifungals, that we use to treat fungal infections, necessitating research into alternative antifungal strategies. One way to increase the amount and delivery of antifungals to invading fungi within the body is using protein-based nanoparticles. The antifungals associate with the nanoparticles that are delivered and taken in by the fungi, so delivering a high amount of drug to ultimately kill the fungi.
