Sequential Ring Opening and Radical Atom Fragmentation Transfer Polymerization to Generate Block Copolymers for Specific Organ Targeting of Polymer Nanoparticles
Polymeric nanoparticles fail to achieve selective organ distribution. We hypothesize that alike lipid nanoparticles, varying the physico-chemical properties of the nanoparticle surface could lead to specific organ targeting. In this regard, we are interested in mapping out the biodistribution caracteristics of nanoparticles with hydrophilic surfaces of various polymer lengths. Therefore, we are synthesizing a polymer library by sequential ROP and RAFT polymerization which will be screened for these desirable properties. The proposed internship in Jena, Germany will provide me technical skills which will expedite my project in Montreal.
