The role of a Globalink Mentor is to provide support for around 5 to 10 Globalink Research Interns (GRIs) between May and November. Some email communication is also required in April to connect with interns before they begin their internships. Globalink Mentors help GRIs become oriented to their host university and provide ongoing weekly support. Mentors are expected to work up to a maximum of 18 hours every 15-day period (pay period), split into two blocks: the 1st–15th and the 16th–30th of each month. More work usually is needed at the beginning of the term when the GRIs arrive; less work is required throughout the summer as the GRIs become more comfortable.
