Vancouver, BC — Mitacs has signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) to support up to 100 students from Thailand over the next five years. Participants will be able to have summer research experiences at Canadian universities through the Globalink Research Internship (GRI) program, starting in 2026.
Through 12-week research placements held from May to October, students will collaborate with Canadian professors on diverse projects within their areas of interest, gaining valuable research experience, expanding global networks, connecting top research talent, and enhancing their skills.
This agreement marks the second co-funded partnership between Mitacs and CUPT, highlighting Mitacs’s ongoing commitment to fostering international research collaborations between Canadian and Thai institutions.
Eligible undergraduate students can apply for the GRI program on the Mitacs website between August and September. For more information, please visit our website.
