In this study, patients with idiopathic scoliosis followed at SickKids will undergo topographic analysis using the Momentum Health scanning application in addition to standard of care clinical evaluation and x-rays. The study period is 1 routine clinic visit followed by 3 months after. Patients will self-scan 1x/month at home for the following 3 months. The sample size will be approximately 15 patients treated with a brace and 15 without. The results of this study are expected to inform the direction of future related research. The accuracy of Momentum Health’s Cobb angle predictions will advise the team if it is pragmatic to consider a large-scale noninferiority randomized control trial that limits routine imaging at this point or if further training of the algorithm is needed. Results will also notify Momentum Health if a separate algorithm for braced patients should be considered.
