‘A Strategic Plan to Improve Indigenous Housing in British Columbia’

This study aims to understand the ways in which Indigenous Housing can be improved in British Columbia, by identifying strategies to best support the Indigenous Housing providers. This research includes the exploration of the capacity needed at Indigenous housing organizations in order to satisfy the needs of urban and rural Indigenous Peoples as well as develop a strategy to build this capacity. Additionally, this research will outline potential steps to take to ensure Indigenous housing units across BC are seismically resilient. For AHMA, the umbrella organization of Indigenous Housing Providers in BC, this research is necessary to identify policy gaps and ensure that Indigenous Housing Providers have the capacity and resources to support the Indigenous communities they serve.
