Best Practices-Based Standards Development for Digitized and Hands-on Biomanufacturing Training – Advanced Therapies Workforce Development

Demand for biomanufacturing capacity has grown to unexpected levels during the current pandemic and the global vaccine supply shortage. Academic programs provide workers with the necessary background qualifications for employment; however, they are unable to meet the job role-specific requirements for cleanroom-based biomanufacturing under current good manufacturing practices (GMP) necessary for production for patients. This leaves a great void of qualified talent for the available and upcoming job roles.
The Canadian Advanced Therapies Training Institute (CATTI) is developing and scaling e-learning and hands-on GMP training programs for efficient and rapid upskilling, reskilling and new skilling of the job-ready, qualified workforce required for workflow under aseptic conditions in Canada and internationally.
Internship objectives: to assist in the development of modules and courses structured around the innovative CATTI virtual e-learning curriculum (currently available internationally) and hands-on courses. A Research Analyst (intern) is required to research and consolidate protocols under best-practices for proficiency-based hands-on learning curriculum development and to identify relevant training material. A high level of competency in scientific communication, descriptive lay language and creative thinking are required.
