The Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland plays a vital role in mentoring and supporting youth by enhancing their confidence, self-esteem, and well-being through impactful programs and mentorship opportunities. As a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting diverse communities, Big Sisters faces a common challenge: optimizing its administrative and operational efficiency while balancing its capacity to engage with its community. One of the core challenges is ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of program activities, volunteer engagement, and fundraising initiatives without overextending their limited resources. The organization must manage a growing database of participants, mentors, and donors, as well as maintain accurate records across multiple departments. This can lead to bottlenecks, reduced responsiveness, and increased pressure on staff, impacting the delivery of services that support their mission.
The Operations and Administration Assistant Intern will address these issues by supporting a wide range of administrative tasks that go beyond day-to-day operations, such as optimizing data management, enhancing communication channels, and ensuring the smooth execution of cross-departmental projects. This project is focused on increasing organizational efficiency and ensuring that the internal administrative framework is robust enough to support program growth and improved volunteer engagement. The intern will be involved in refining and updating digital materials, supporting match activities, and assisting with donor correspondence, ensuring that the organization can effectively connect with its stakeholders while maintaining high standards of accuracy and organization.
