Delimitation of Extended Continental Shelves in the Arctic Ocean

My research interests lie in the sphere of delimitation of continental shelves outside 200 nautical miles in the High North and involve emerging challenges of today. The process and principles of delimitation, influence of geomorphology and geopolitics are core questions of my study. The establishment of maritime borders in the Arctic is very important for the region as it affects geopolitics, science, and business. The delimitation of the extended continental shelves in the Arctic will impact how Canada, Russia, the USA, Denmark and Norway cooperate in environmental issues, scientific collaboration, infrastructure projects, etc. The establishment of the Canadian continental shelf borders and the global warming might bring such positive effects as major infrastructure projects for the remote areas in the north, the Arctic natural resources development, and growing wealth of the indigenous people.
